"Bodhisattva of
Compassion & Mercy"
Kuan Yin Statues
A Bodhisattva is a being who seeks enlightenment but
renounces the complete attainment of this goal until all being are
enlightened. Bodhisattvas provide help to those who ask and take upon
themselves the suffering of others. Kuan Yin Bodhisattva manifests herself
in any form necessary when a being calls out for help. She is especially
helpful in dealing with the danger of drowning, malevolent energies, fire
or for assistance to childless women who wish to become pregnant.
Kuan Yin Bodhisattva is usually depicted riding on a dragon or
standing on clouds. She holds a lotus flower (enlightenment), or a willow
branch (gentleness). She also carries a vase containing Heavenly dew.

Sakyamuni Buddha
Seated on a lotus throne and holding a sacred
lotus flower in his left hand. The lotus is a symbol of purity and
perfection. Like blooming lotus flowers, when beings attain enlightenment,
they rise unstained from the murky waters of the world.
His
right hand is extended in the Varada mudra. This is Sakyamuni
Buddha's symbol for summoning Heaven as his witness to his attainment of Buddhahood.

Maitreya (Happy) Buddha
Chinese style of depicting the Buddha Maitreya (Sanskrit).
Carrying a string of 108 prayer beads, each one representing one hundred years
and signifying the time he will wait before appearing in the world. His sitting
posture is unique in that one leg is partly raised, his large belly is exposed
and he smiles broadly. His prosperous large belly and relaxed attitude show that
he is content with life.
He is actually a monk who is considered an incarnation of Maitreya Buddha,
the Buddha of the future who will bring peace and harmony to the world! Made from stone and resin.
